Iranian short animation ‘Light Sight’ has been qualified as a submission to the 2019 edition of the Student Academy Awards.
The film will vie at the competition section of the US event, making the short become eligible as an entry for the competition.
Directed by Moslem Tabatabaee, the seven-minute 3D animation has one character named M.E., and one setting. The character tries to escape from the room to get to the light he sees outside.
According to official website of the Student Academy Awards, "Eligible students" among other requirements "can submit one film to the Student Academy Awards if that film...has been selected for screening in competition section at three film festivals recognized by the SAAS over the last two years."
‘Light Sight’ has so far won 78 awards worldwide, and 32 nominations, from 293 festivals in 54 countries.
